Thanks to a grant from
FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Woodside Fire Protection District has
purchased a Fire Safety Trailer. This Trailer is used to help educate the public
about safety in the home. The trailer is designed to look like an actual house.
Children can learn about kitchen safety, 9-1-1 and how to escape safely from a fire.
It is our intent to have a
collaborative effort in educating the youth not only within WFPD's jurisdiction
but also in the cities of San Carlos, Belmont, Redwood City, and Foster City
with help from the local Fire Departments.
The trailer was introduced to the elementary schools of Woodside Fire District
in October of 2004. ASK YOUR SCHOOL WHEN WE WILL BE COMING TO VISIT.
