Hi CERTs and Community Members!
We’re getting ready for our CERT Skills & Disaster Simulation Day on Saturday, October 25, and I’d love to see you there! This is one of our best training days of the year—hands-on, energetic, and a ton of fun. We’ll be at Fire Station 7 (3111 Woodside Road).
You can join in two ways:
CERT Skills Refresher (CERT Alumni)
Shake off the rust and get back into action! The morning is skills stations (cribbing, medical, ICS, fire safety, etc.) and the afternoon is our full disaster simulation with live team response.
-
Check-in: 0845 hrs
-
Training: 0900–1600 hrs
-
Bring: CERT backpack, FOG manual, sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, safety gear if you have it (helmet, gloves, vest), and a water bottle
Volunteer “Patient” Role (open to CERTs & community volunteers!)
Help make our simulation realistic by acting as an injured survivor. We’ll use moulage (fake blood + injury makeup), and you’ll get a role in the scenario. No experience needed—just enthusiasm!
We’ll have a light breakfast and lunch for everyone, plus it’s a great way to reconnect with your CERT community and support our newest class.
Parking is available next door to the fire station.
Bring a friend, neighbor, or spouse—patient volunteers are especially welcome!
Can’t wait to see you there,
Selena Brown
Public Education Officer/Emergency Preparedness Coordinator
