We invite you to join us for "Be Wildfire Safe & Ready," a community preparedness event taking place on Saturday, April 26, 2025. This event is designed to educate and empower San Mateo County residents with critical information on wildfire prevention, preparedness, and response.
As a vital partner in wildfire safety, we encourage your department to reserve a booth and share valuable insights, resources, and demonstrations to help the public better prepare for wildfires. Your expertise and engagement will be instrumental in ensuring our communities stay safe and informed.

Departments are welcome to display apparatus or vehicles indoors at the event. For those wishing to display the following rules must be followed:
- All vehicle owners shall be present during the on-site inspection to provide access to battery compartment and show vehicle fuel level.
- All vehicle fueling shall occur outside of the building. Fuel-tank openings shall be locked and sealed to prevent the emission of fuel vapors. All vehicles shall have no more than 1/4 of the tank capacity or 5 gallons whichever is less.
- All vehicle batteries shall be disconnected while vehicle is on display within the building.
- Vehicles with inaccessible batteries must be equipped with a remote battery shutoff switch that immobilizes engine ignition. Vehicles that cannot secure power to the engine will not be allowed to participate in the event.
