In a disaster or emergency, communication is the backbone of safety and coordination. It keeps families connected, provides critical updates, and ensures responders can act quickly and efficiently. However, communication systems are often the first to fail when disaster strikes. That’s why Woodside Fire, and other stakeholders, continue to establish multiple forms of communication to ensure we can adapt, stay informed, and work together when it matters most. We are continuously working to improve and add layers to these systems, but even with these efforts, the most important step you can take is to prepare yourself and your family for disasters before they happen. Being ready ahead of time makes all the difference when seconds count. Explore our tools and resources to stay connected and prepared.
For this very reason we are in process of implementing processes for an already established radio communication infrastructure built by dedicated residents for CERT. For the first time a bridge has been built to connect WFPD to the CERT infrastructure. Please check back periodically to check our progress.
WFPD has already purchased and installed new digital radios on all our apparatus.
In Progress: How communication will work with CERT members at home that have radios, or CERT members within a neighborhood, connecting them to non-cert members.
More to come...
